Terms of Use
Effective date: 11 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Gitesh Shastri, who operates Textbound.
These terms cover Textbound on the web and in the iPhone app. The iPhone app is also licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where they conflict, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.
1. Who can use Textbound
- You must be 18 or older, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
- One account per person. Don't use Textbound for anyone else, or let a minor use your device to access it.
2. It's fiction, with AI characters
- Vantar, Venn, Morrow and every other character are fictional AI characters, whichever one you choose to text you. They aren't people and don't speak for us.
- AI can be wrong or unexpected. Don't rely on a character for advice about health, money, legal matters or safety.
- Textbound isn't therapy or a crisis service. If you need help, see the resources on our Safety page.
3. How you'll use it
Please don't:
- try to make characters produce sexual content, content involving minors, or content that promotes self-harm or violence against real people;
- use Textbound to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or resell the service;
- share account access or work around the age check.
We may pause or close an account that breaks these rules or that we believe belongs to a minor.
4. Your account and your messages
- Reading needs a free account. You sign in with your Google account, or with Apple in the iPhone app; keep that account secure.
- You keep whatever rights you have in what you write. You let us use it to run your story, keep it safe, and improve Textbound, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- The story, characters, art and website are ours. Your conversations are for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Shared story-line cards may be posted anywhere with credit to Textbound.
5. Price
- Textbound is free during early access, with a free account.
- If we add paid plans later, we'll show the price and terms before you buy anything, and nothing you've already read will be taken away.
6. Changes and availability
Stories, characters and features may change. A season may end; that's how stories work. We'll tell you in the app about material changes to these terms.
7. Disclaimers and limits
Textbound is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. This does not limit consumer protection rights you have where you live.
